Youth & Teen Counselling in Abbotsford & Online Across BC
Adolescence can be overwhelming — full of change, pressure, and self-discovery. At RenHaven, we offer a safe, supportive space where teens can explore their thoughts and emotions without judgment. Through experiential therapies, such as AEDP, EMDR, and IFS and Art Therapy, we help young people build confidence, resilience, and a deeper connection to themselves and others.
A Space for Teens to Feel Seen and Supported
Youth counselling is designed for teens (ages 12–18) who are struggling to manage stress, relationships, or emotions during this important stage of life. Therapy can be especially helpful for teens who are:
Feeling anxious, overwhelmed, or easily frustrated
Experiencing low self-esteem or self-doubt
Managing school pressure, burnout, or perfectionism
Navigating family changes or conflict
Coping with grief, trauma, or identity struggles
Finding it hard to open up or communicate
Our goal is to help teens feel safe to express themselves and discover tools that build confidence, self-awareness, and emotional balance.
An Experiential Approach to Teen Therapy
Our work with youth combines experiential and creative approaches — like art therapy, experiential therapy, and body-based awareness — with genuine connection and respect.
Every session is guided by curiosity and collaboration. We focus on helping teens recognize and name their emotions, develop healthy coping strategies, strengthen communication and boundaries, and reconnect with their sense of identity and purpose.
Therapy offers a space to slow down, process emotions, and begin creating lasting patterns of self-understanding and growth.
Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. We protect your teen’s privacy while also ensuring safety. Parents are kept informed about progress, but specific details from sessions remain private unless there are safety concerns.
-
It’s important that therapy is something they want to do in order to make positive change. Even if they are scared to try, if there’s a small percentage of them that wants to give it a shot - we will work with that. But if it’s a ‘heck-no,’ then let’s honour and respect their timing. They simply may not be ready - but that doesn’t mean they never will. They need you to trust them to tell you when they’re ready - and the progress will be much faster then.
-
Yes. We offer both in-person therapy in Abbotsford and virtual sessions for teens across British Columbia.
-
The length of therapy depends on your teen’s goals and needs. Some come for short-term support; others stay longer to work through deeper challenges. We’ll decide together what feels best.
-
Parents are welcome for periodic check-ins through a separate, individual support. If your teen wants you to join the session, then we can talk about what that looks like. Otherwise, it’s important that we give them a space that feels their own.
