Exploring Emotions Through Creativity and Expression

Using Art Therapy to Explore What Words Cannot

Adults, Children & Youth

Working with art in sessions, sometimes in between sessions, as a symbolic representation of your feelings.

Art therapy offers another way to gently access what’s been held beneath the surface.

Not everything we carry has words.
Some experiences - especially those from early in life or moments of emotional impact - are held in images, sensations, and feelings.

When this happens, it can be difficult to fully express or process them through talking alone.
You might feel stuck, overwhelmed, or find certain patterns or reactions repeating without fully understanding why.

Through simple, guided art-making, we create space for these deeper layers to emerge in a way that feels safe, supported, and at your pace.

This isn’t about making something “good” or focusing on the final product.
It’s about the process, the movement, the expression, and what begins to unfold as you create.

You’ll be gently supported in exploring what arises,
so these experiences can begin to feel more integrated, understood, and no longer carried in the same way.

You don’t need to be an artist to engage in art therapy.
There’s no right or wrong way to do this - just a willingness to be curious about what might emerge.

Art therapy offers a creative, non-verbal way to explore your inner world using images, colour, and movement as a bridge to deeper understanding.

You might find Art Therapy helpful if…

  • you’re feeling overwhelmed and don’t know where to begin

  • you’re grieving and words don’t feel like enough

  • you have difficulty expressing or naming what you feel

  • you tend to be hard on yourself or afraid of making mistakes

  • there are parts of your story that feel too painful to talk about

  • you’re longing to understand yourself more deeply

  • or you simply feel curious about exploring in a different way

… and so much more.
